Webinar Recap: Turning Employee Engagement Insights into Action with Remesh
Whether you’re working under a deadline or designing a longitudinal strategy, the Remesh platform scales to your analysis needs. From the instant clarity of Summarize to the nuanced intelligence of Auto Code every feature is designed to help you, whether you’re a Light-Touch Researcher, Full Cycle Researcher or something in-between, listen deeply and act quickly.

As employee expectations evolve and the workplace is reshaped by generative AI, HR leaders are under increasing pressure to act fast—without sacrificing insight. That’s why employee engagement research must move beyond static surveys and into the realm of real-time qualitative analysis. In a recent Deep Dive Webinar, research consultant Suzanne Walsh and customer experience leader Shay Myrick showed how researchers can leverage Remesh analysis tools to turn live conversation data into compelling, actionable insights at any level of research expertise.

Light-Touch or Full-Cycle? Two Approaches to Research on Remesh
A central takeaway from the webinar was the value of tailoring your analysis approach to your reporting goals. Although the platform supports all types of researchers, Suzanne recommended in this instance to think about two distinct personas:
- The Light-Touch Researcher: Needs to deliver insights quickly—often for executive updates or project sprints.
- The Full-Cycle Researcher: Prepares in-depth reports, builds strategic recommendations, and speaks to findings in stakeholder presentations.
Understanding which persona you’re occupying helps determine how to best navigate features like Summarize, Auto Code, Segment Analysis, and Search.
👉 Learn more about platform capabilities for both approaches in the Remesh Help Center.
Getting Started: Summarize to Orient, Drill Down to Analyze
Suzanne emphasized that analysis should start with a guiding question: What’s the goal of this report? For quick summaries, she recommends beginning with the Summarize feature, which uses OpenAI's LLM to extract high-level themes from your conversation. Light-touch researchers benefit most from the bullet point view, ideal for populating slides in seconds. Full-cycle researchers, by contrast, may opt for paragraph or half-page summaries to begin crafting a narrative.
“I like to start with summarize to orient myself,” Suzanne noted, “and then zoom into individual questions to unpack nuance and variation across participant segments.”

Segment Analysis: Discovering Group-Specific Insights
Using a Gen AI at Work case study, the webinar highlighted how the Segment Filter helps researchers compare perspectives across different employee groups. For instance, financial services and government employees emphasized different benefits of Gen AI—even when overall agreement percentages looked similar.
The key is Remesh’s Compare Agreement feature, which displays how strongly each segment aligns with specific verbatims.
“Segment sizes matter,” Suzanne cautioned. “You can’t over-interpret a 70% agreement if your segment N is 12. But it’s a great signal for further inquiry.”

Auto Code: From Themes to Action
The Auto Code feature quickly became a webinar favorite. Powered by generative AI, Auto Code organizes open-ended responses into super codes (high-level themes) and sub codes (nuanced topics). For full-cycle researchers, this saves hours of manual tagging while preserving analytical depth.
In the webinar’s case study, Auto Code helped visualize how “Training and Upskilling” emerged as a dominant theme, mentioned in over 120 responses. Paired with exemplar verbatim and agreement scores, this coding structure enabled the team to craft a compelling narrative backed by numbers.

Search & Custom Analysis: Curate Your Own Insights
Want to investigate specific terms like “enhance” or “innovation”? The Search bar allows both light-touch and full-cycle researchers to query the conversation for words and phrases that matter most to them.
As Suzanne explained, this feature is perfect for validating hypotheses, investigating unexpected mentions, or tailoring insights to internal messaging needs.

Putting It All Together: From Platform to Presentation
Finally, the webinar demonstrated how teams translate insights into reports. Using Remesh’s export features, teams can pull visualizations and charts directly into decks, weaving a story around the data.
The key isn’t just showing what people said…it’s highlighting why those sentiments matter, and what leadership should do next.
“When we pair exemplar quotes with frequency and sentiment, we give a voice to the data,” Suzanne explained. “That’s what drives action.”
